About the Festival
Who we are and what we do! Ashbourne Festival has been entertaining local residents and visitors to the town for the past 26 years (and counting!). We attract big names from the world of art, science, literature, music, drama and comedy.
Nestled in the Derbyshire countryside, at the gateway to The Peak District - Ashbourne hosts an annual festival from the middle of June to early July. Our opening weekend is a free StreetFest extravaganza.
Entertainers from all over the world perform all over the town, doing everything from daring and dangerous feats all the way through to outright silly acts - demonstrating that there's something for everyone at StreetFest!
During the festival, we feature the works of local, national and international artists in our acclaimed Summer Art Exhibition! The rest of the festival features indoor and outdoor drama, poetry events, art, craft and cultural workshops as well as stunning performances from musicians and dance groups. You can also expect funny and entertaining talks or interviews involving well known faces (and yes, celebrities) from the worlds of science, history, comedy, sport, as well as TV and the arts.
