The Makory Bus is coming to Ashbourne!

10:00am - 4:00pm
Come on down to the Market Place on Saturday 25th April (10am- 4pm). We’re staging a launch event for both the Ashbourne Festival and our free Street Festival (yes, two festivals around town for the price of one).
Our full 2026 printed Festival Guide will be available for the first time and it would be great to see you all. We’ll be right alongside the Makers Market, on the Makory Bus!
This travelling makerspace is bringing a day of free, drop-in creative workshops celebrating Derbyshire’s innovators, past and present. Think hands-on making, a bit of history, and plenty of creativity for all ages.
The Makory team will be leading artist-led workshops inspired by local stories, materials and landscapes – mixing traditional craft with more playful, modern making. We’ll be on board helping out too, so come and say hello and get stuck in.
There’ll also be a touring exhibition to explore, connecting local heritage, making and innovation. Each stop on the tour is a little different, shaped by the place and the people who take part – so it’s well worth popping by.
Alongside The Makory Bus, the Makers Market will be in full swing too, so there’ll be plenty to see, do and browse.
The Makory Bus tour is delivered by Local, in partnership with Derby Museum, and we’re delighted to be hosting it here in Ashbourne alongside Derbyshire Dales District Council.
