The future of the 2024 Lantern Spectacular – and those that will follow in future years – has been secured.

Our collection of more than 250 candle-lit lanterns is now safe and dry in a local storage facility, thanks to the generosity of a local sponsor, who prefers not to be named.

The Lantern Spectacular is a joint project brought to the town annually in December, by the Ashbourne Christmas Group. It includes Ashbourne Arts, Ashbourne Churches Together, Ashbourne Town Council and the Ashbourne Traders Group.

Lantern workshops will take place later this year in October and November. Individuals or organisations that would like to register their interest in creating/repairing lanterns, or express an interest in carrying lanterns at the next event can do so by emailing info@ashbournefestival.org.
