Invitation to participate in Workshops and Online Survey
Ashbourne Town Council and Ashbourne Town Team has commissioned ‘Thinking Place’ to work with us to develop a forward looking place narrative for Ashbourne. This will help build pride and local confidence, market the area to attract people to Ashbourne, encourage inward investment and visitors, create jobs and support existing business in the area. It will be a clear, compelling and consistent place narrative that we can all unite behind when promoting our town.
Ashbourne has some great assets, lots of potential and more needs to be done to raise the profile and image of our area. With this in mind, we want your views to help us understand local issues and priorities, as well as any ideas you may have for the future of Ashbourne.
This is about:
Making Ashbourne a better place to live and work.
Creating a place where people want to spend time and money.
Understanding our assets, so we can package them better.
Ensuring we have an environment where businesses choose to locate stay and grow.
Appreciating the assets that surround us which should be part of our narrative.
Defining and celebrating what makes Ashbourne special.
As part of the process in developing this narrative ‘Thinking Place’ are undertaking a series of consultations with the Ashbourne community. These include a Steering Group, one-to-one meetings as well as focus groups , workshops and an online survey .
This article is particularly focused on an invitation to attend the Workshops and complete the online survey .
There is the option to join one of two workshops – one physical and one virtual – to provide your insight, thoughts and knowledge to help shape this powerful story.
We want to hear what makes you proud about Ashbourne, how you feel about the area and how you might like it to develop in the future.
The Workshops are open to all and are taking place on:
In person Monday 6th November 6.00pm – 7.30pm at the Ashbourne Community Pavilion, Cockayne Avenue
Virtual Wednesday 15th November 5.30-7.00pm
You can register for one of these workshops here: https://bit.ly/AshbourneNarrative
It would also be very helpful if you could spend a few minutes completing the survey to share your thoughts and views with us.
The survey will be open until Friday 10th of November 2023 on the following link: https://bit.ly/AshbourneSurvey
Please can we ask your help to share this information with your colleagues and networks.
Thank you for your help with this.
