This is a welcome return to Ashbourne for comedian Steve Day who is to takes this heartwarming one man show about his father’s dementia to The Edinburgh Fringe Festival this coming August, but is treating us first. Steve’s dad has Alzheimers and there’s nothing he can do about it except remember the way he was. Steve has also been deaf since his teens but has new hearing aids so now he’s going through all the music he’s missed since then. It reminds him of his dad.
“I need to celebrate my dad, and shout loudly and laugh at an affliction we daren’t discuss openly.”
“The point of the show is to laugh, cry, and sing along in celebration of my dad and defy the absolute bastard scourge of dementia.”
If you liked Steve’s bittersweet comedy about deafness last time he came to the festival then this is a show not to be missed.
