Piaf the Songs

Piaf the Songs   £15.00 no concessions
Sunday 25 June 2017 at 7.30pm (doors open 7.00pm)
Town Hall, Market Place, Ashbourne DE6 1ES

Eve Loiseau sings the songs of Edith Piaf accompanied by Murray Grainger (accordion) and Fiona Barrow (violin)

Piaf’s life was the stuff of legend, she rose dramatically from Paris street urchin to international star, her style synonymous with French Cabaret of the 1940’s and 50’s. Sadly, her life couldn’t have been further removed from this scene. She was unable to accept that thousands idolised her and towards the end of her life turned to drugs, leaving behind crowded streets full of mourners at her funeral in 1963.

This is a welcome return for this sparkling evening which featured at our Festival 2011. Songs featured in this performance include La Vie en Rose, Autumn Leaves and Non, Je ne regrette rien.
