To celebrate the beginning of the Festival the Derbyshire Singers are presenting a truly uplifting programme of anthems and sacred music from well loved composers; Brahms, Handel, Haydn, Rutter and Allegri. The concert also features trumpeter Anthony Thompson who has performed with most of our major orchestras, such as the Hallé, RLPO, CBSO and Royal Northern Sinfonia. Since 2008 Anthony has been principal trumpet of Sinfonia ViVA. The soloist is young soprano Lucy Hall who already has an impressive career in opera and concert performances. The organist is John Keys Director of Music at St Mary’s Church, Nottingham with an independent career as solo organist, continuo player, accompanist and conductor.
